Renting in London is a nightmare.

Soaring rents. Poor conditions. Hidden letting agent fees. London’s renters need a better deal.

Over a quarter of Londoners rent their homes. For millions of people, renting isn’t a short term choice – it’s a permanent way of life.

London’s Mayor Boris Johnson asked Londoners at the end of 2012 to tell him what they think of renting in the capital through the London Rental Standard consultation.

More than 5,000 of you got involved, calling for drastic changes.

It’s a clear sign that renting in London has to change. We’ve listened to what you want and will spend the next few months working with Londoners to make sure Boris delivers. We’ll have more news when the Mayor’s office publishes their response to the consultation.
